![1973 Triumph GT6]()
1973 Triumph GT6 - $34,900 - Syosset, NY - 1973 TRIUMPH GT6 MARK IIIExotic Classics is proud to present what is arguably the finest Triumph GT6 on this side of the Atlantic. Featured in British Leyland #66 Valencia Blue paint, with Black trim, this car was the subject of a meticulous nut and bolt restoration between 1999-2002 which included disassembly and professional rebuild of all systems and components using NOS factory parts where available, or the best replacement parts where factory parts were not to be found. The engine, transmission, brakes, suspension and all ancillary systems were rebuilt. The prior owners cherished this car for 22 years and it currently has 74,500 miles. Included are 14,150 miles since the restoration was completed. The restoration was performed by Surrey Motorsports, in Niles, MI, a well-respected shop. Post-restoration the car collected many trophies including Best of Show at many multi-marque British car shows. Since restoration the car was stored winters, but shown and driven regularly. It has been meticulously maintained and still looks and drives as factory-fresh. The car is completely stock with the exception of the following upgrades: electric cooling fan, K&N air filters, cast aluminum valve cover, black anodized aluminum engine valences and radiator cowl, and Pertronix Ignitor electronic ignition. The car is capable of driving at highways speeds all day and will be a source of great pride to its new owner in touring and concours events. The GT6 was positioned by British Leyland as a less expensive alternative to the Jaguar XKE. The fastback coupe design is attributed to Giovanni Michelotti if Italy. Power is provided by BL’s 1,998 cc 6-cylinder engine and the car was capable of 112 mph and 0-60 in about 10 seconds. With independent rear suspension the GT6 Mark III handled well, and the interior is well-appointed for sporting driving.
