1973 Triumph GT6 - $34,900 - Syosset, NY - 1973 TRIUMPH GT6 MARK IIIExotic Classics is proud to present what is arguably the finest Triumph GT6 on this side of the Atlantic. Featured in British Leyland #66 Valencia Blue paint, with Black trim, this car was the subject of a meticulous nut and bolt restoration between 1999-2002 which included disassembly and professional rebuild of all systems and components using NOS factory parts where available, or the best replacement parts where factory parts were not to be found. The engine, transmission, brakes, suspension and all ancillary systems were rebuilt. The prior owners cherished this car for 22 years and it currently has 74,500 miles. Included are 14,150 miles since the restoration was completed. The restoration was performed by Surrey Motorsports, in Niles, MI, a well-respected shop. Post-restoration the car collected many trophies including Best of Show at many multi-marque British car shows. Since restoration the car was stored winters, but shown and driven regularly. It has been meticulously maintained and still looks and drives as factory-fresh. The car is completely stock with the exception of the following upgrades: electric cooling fan, K&N air filters, cast aluminum valve cover, black anodized aluminum engine valences and radiator cowl, and Pertronix Ignitor electronic ignition. The car is capable of driving at highways speeds all day and will be a source of great pride to its new owner in touring and concours events. The GT6 was positioned by British Leyland as a less expensive alternative to the Jaguar XKE. The fastback coupe design is attributed to Giovanni Michelotti if Italy. Power is provided by BL’s 1,998 cc 6-cylinder engine and the car was capable of 112 mph and 0-60 in about 10 seconds. With independent rear suspension the GT6 Mark III handled well, and the interior is well-appointed for sporting driving.

1972 Triumph GT6 - Auction - Weybridge, SURREY - A fastback Spitfire powered by the 2000 saloon's two litre, six cylinder engine, the GT6 arrived in October 1966 with production running until 1973. Like the Spitfire, it inherited what was essentially the Triumph Herald's chassis and running gear which had already proved capable of handling six-cylinder power when developed for the Vitesse saloon. A comfortable ride was considered vital for the all-important North American market so the GT6 inherited the Herald/Spitfire's softly sprung rear swing axle though the latter arrangement would be superseded by lower wishbones on the GT6 Mk. II. At the same time the engine received a power boost courtesy of the TR5 cylinder head and 'hotter' camshaft, maximum output increasing from 95 to 104bhp. The restyled, last-of-the-line, Mk. III adopted the contemporary Spitfire's simpler 'swing-spring' rear suspension. Brisk performance (100mph+) and stylish, the GT6 well deserved its 'mini E-Type' sobriquet and today, is one of the most sought after of post-war Triumph sports cars with only 13,042 Mk. III examples manufactured. Originally registered on 15th September 1972, this GT6 is a sound example although a little light re-commissioning is required. The 1998cc engine starts and runs well and we are advised she drives well. These stylish sports-cars have become highly sought after of late and an example such as this represents an ideal opportunity to obtain one at a reasonable cost. The bodywork shows little sign of corrosion although the interior would benefit from some time and investment. Supplied with a V5 registration document, this Triumph could well prove to be a fine investment.

1973 Triumph GT6 - $16,900 - Grand Rapids, MI -

GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1973 Triumph GT6 Mark III 2-door Fastback for purchase. The GT6 is a 6-cylinder sports coupe that was built by Standard-Triumph and based on their popular Triumph Spitfire convertible from 1966-1973. In early 1963, Standard-Triumph commissioned Giovanni Michelotti (notable for designing many models including several for Ferrari & Maserati) to design a GT version of the new Spitfire line. The fastback design was too heavy for the 1147cc output and the model was shelved. However, the prototype was adopted by the Triumph racing program and its aerodynamics resulted in great success (1st in class at 24-hour Lemans). After re-evaluation the GT6 was born with the Michelotti designed body and the more powerful 6 cylinder Triumph Vitesse engine with a marketing campaign to talk about the racing success.

This GT6 spent most of its life in Colorado before last purchased ten years ago and then brought to Michigan. It has been stored, well maintained and driven in fair weather only. We hold receipts as the car has been routinely professionally serviced each spring (including rebuilt carburetors, new rotors/pads, new shift kit, new water pump, and new gas lines). It's powered by the 2.0 liter 1,988cc inline 6 cylinder engine paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. There is an aftermarket sunroof which is a popular coach work modification done in Europe for great air movement inside the cabin. Don't confuse these cars' performance with the 4 cylinder Spitfire. These cars have a very reliable inline six with dual carburetors that is a lot of fun to drive. It's a great driving experience with an awesome and very rare body style. Please call or email for more details!
